Professionalism

Many years of experience, consistency and expertise in the maritime and civil law sectors

Athena Kontogianni is a lawyer and member of the Piraeus Bar Association since 2004. She completed her studies at the Department of Law of the Democritus University of Thrace. She also holds a degree from the Department of Political Science as well as a master’s degree from the Department of International Law of the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
The law office is a continuation of the law office of Paraskevi Kontogianni which was founded in 1972. The many years of experience, consistency and specialization in the maritime and civil law sectors as well as the cooperation with other specialized professionals (notaries, tax experts, accountants, bailiffs) ensure the provision of a high level of service, consulting and litigation.
Having dealt with several civil cases (family law, inheritance law, property law, leases, real estate law, cadastral cases), lawyer Athina Kontogianni takes on cases in this field with seriousness and professionalism, always with the client’s needs in mind.

What does our office provide?

Our office is able to offer you:

• Immediate scheduling of meetings, even remotely, for those residing outside Attica or even outside Greece.

• Updates throughout the duration of your case and presentation of every available alternative proposal.

• Collaboration with experienced tax consultants/notaries/judicial bailiffs in case your case requires further actions.

How does our firm operate?

Legal advice is not free.

As with all professions, the services we provide, as well as the time we dedicate to serving the client, are valuable. This is why fair compensation is necessary. By no means do we mean excessive charges for providing legal services. However, we are not able to assist many who call us and request free legal advice without describing their case to us or providing incomplete information. Besides the financial aspect of the matter, such a thing would also be dangerous for the client themselves and for our firm. If the client follows the legal advice we provided for free and suffers damage to their interests, the first thing they would do is turn against us for compensation due to incorrect legal guidance. Clearly, we would not want such a situation, which is why we mention that our texts are informational and do not constitute personalized legal advice.

Every case is fully costed.

Given that we all want to know exactly what we are paying for and why we are paying for it, our firm takes a positive step in this area. For each of our clients, after their case is completed, we provide a detailed cost breakdown for the expenses incurred during the case as well as the time we dedicated to its successful completion. In this way, our firm in no way adopts hidden charges. Our goal is to explain to the client how the final cost of their case is determined and to explain the available payment methods. Such a process, however, requires cooperation from both sides, so we strive to earn the trust of the client. The latter should, upon the completion of their case by our office, be able to know exactly what legal actions were taken and what the cost of each of them will be individually. This is precisely what we aim to ensure, staying true to the philosophy of our firm.

We must be punctual in meetings.

In our firm, when we schedule a meeting with a client, we make time in our schedule and may cancel other tasks that should have been done at that time. For this reason, it is necessary for the client to inform us if they intend not to come to the meeting or if they will be significantly late. It’s also a matter of courtesy, after all. Of course, unexpected situations and developments can happen to all of us, which is why we show a lot of understanding in this regard. We ask for the same understanding from the client, and primarily for the seriousness of their intentions regarding whether they will attend the scheduled meeting. There is no need to schedule pointless meetings, which could have been avoided if the client had informed us that they had a tight schedule or that they initially intended to assign the case to another lawyer, etc. From our firm (in this area as well), you will see the best service because we place the client at the center of our attention.
