Athena Kontogianni is a lawyer and member of the Piraeus Bar Association since 2004. She completed her studies at the Department of Law of the Democritus University of Thrace. She also holds a degree from the Department of Political Science as well as a master’s degree from the Department of International Law of the Free University of Brussels (ULB).
The law office is a continuation of the law office of Paraskevi Kontogianni which was founded in 1972. The many years of experience, consistency and specialization in the maritime and civil law sectors as well as the cooperation with other specialized professionals (notaries, tax experts, accountants, bailiffs) ensure the provision of a high level of service, consulting and litigation.
Having dealt with several civil cases (family law, inheritance law, property law, leases, real estate law, cadastral cases), lawyer Athina Kontogianni takes on cases in this field with seriousness and professionalism, always with the client’s needs in mind.
Professionalism
Many years of experience, consistency and expertise in the maritime and civil law sectors
More generally, legal practice is a complex activity that:
• requires constant and substantial communication with the client in order to have a prompt response to take the legal actions that are best for his interests
• requires constant and substantial communication with the client in order to have a prompt response to take the legal actions that are best for his interests
• it is necessary to cost the services of the legal representative at an early point in time and to transmit them to the client in order to avoid any surprises
A common mistake…
It is-unfortunately-a common practice followed by many legal representatives today not to inform their client of the full development of their case, while there are not a few who make empty promises that in fact have nothing to do with their client’s interests, which ultimately end up being unsatisfied.
Our office, in complete contrast to the above practices, has as a realistic goal the responsible undertaking of cases and their handling with professionalism, seriousness and always with the vision of the client in mind. In addition, our goals are to build an interpersonal relationship with the client in order to have a better understanding of the facts that the client seeks to legally protect. After all, law and legal affairs themselves arise from daily (sometimes personal) conflicts between individuals. Therefore, we place client-lawyer communication quite high on the scale of goals.
Along with active advocacy (that is, the lawyer filing applications and lawsuits as well as appearing in court to represent his client), our office also undertakes advisory advocacy (that is, providing legal advice in advance so that the client can proceed with the correct and legal way in some legal action). Our pursuit at this level too is directness and directness (= to give advice/suggestion to the customer as quickly and as thoroughly as possible). We consider this important in order not to consume too much of the client’s own time, but also to avoid finding another obstacle (e.g. missing a procedural deadline) that could significantly frustrate the successful outcome of the case.
Every case is different…
The fact is that there is no proven “formula” that applies to all legal cases. Therefore, each case requires a different handling and possibly an approach from another side in order to have a happy outcome. Our office, considering this fact, seriously and carefully studies the nature of each case even before deciding to represent the client (as the facts of the case may make it particularly difficult), in order to be sure that any move decided on a legal level will be the most appropriate and will not be done for reasons of frivolity and expediency. In this way, the client himself will know whether he has a chance to win his case or to turn to other solutions (e.g. entering into an out-of-court settlement which in many cases will be more profitable on all levels than a legal battle).
Ultimately…
Due to the complexity of today’s era, especially at the legal level, and realizing that increasingly simple tasks have ended up being done in a more and more difficult way in our time (e.g. the issue of a tax certificate by the Public Service), our office promises a structured, professional and communicative cooperation with each client. Of course, the above includes the agreement of a fair fee between lawyer and client that will meet the needs of each case with detailed costing and always in consultation with the other side.
